CREATING “MY BANNER” IN INTERNET NATIVE BANNER


Easy way to identify and organize your frequently used Banner forms in INB


Objective: The “My Banner” provides a folder in the main INB navigation window to forms that you use on a daily basis. This will be extremely helpful as we begin our journey with Banner.

Logon to Banner INB

  1. Go to http://www.etsu.edu Choose GoldLink (Portal)

    Login using username and password Choose INB option


    OR


  2. Go to: http://banner.etsu.edu:9090/ Choose Internet Native Banner (PROD) Login using username and password

  1. Double click on “My Banner”

  2. First time users: double click on Empty; Select to build Updating “My Banner”: double click on organize “My Banner”.

  3. There are several methods for choosing the forms (object) that you want to add to your “My Banner”. This handout will identify three methods.


    1. Method #1 – EASIEST - Typing in form names


      • Type in name of form that you will frequently use in Object box on right hand side of form (hit enter)

      • If you misspell the form name you will receive error message “invalid”

      • To enter additional forms -- navigate to next object box by using arrow keys or click on Record, and select: next (see green arrow below)

      • When you have finished adding form names - click on save icon (or file / save)

      • You will have to exit Banner INB and log back in before “My Banner” forms will display in main navigation window.

        These are some of the Banner forms that I think academic advisors may need quick access to. You will probably identify other forms as you begin using Banner. You may rename the description to something that you will know and/or remember.

    2. Method # 2 – Select Forms from Provided List


      • The left hand side of the form lists the available form names. You can scroll through these options using the scroll bar (see orange arrow below)

      • When you find a form that you would like to add to your “My Banner” folder double click on object name. The object and description will turn blue – then use the arrows in the middle of form to add this form to the right side.

      • When you have finished adding form names - click on save icon (or file / save)

        • You will have to exit Banner INB and log back on before “My Banner” forms will display in main navigation window.
