Monday, October 20, 2008JOHNSON CITY”The East Tennessee State University Student Ceramics Association will host Gertrude Graham Smith at a free public demonstration workshop this Thursday (Oct. 23) from noon-5 p.m. and Friday (Oct. 24) from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. in the Art Annex Building.
Gertrude Graham Smith is a studio potter residing near Penland, N.C. She held artist-in-residencies at the Archie Bray Foundation in Helena, Mont., and at the Penland School in N.C. Her work is represented internationally and is included in several publications.
She is the recipient of a North Carolina Arts Council Visual Artist Fellowship award for 2006-2007, and her work has been featured on the cover of Ceramics Monthly magazine. For additional details and pictures of her work, visit www.gertrudegrahamsmith.com.
