Friday, November 07, 2008JOHNSON CITY—East Tennessee State University students, faculty and staff will meet Saturday, Nov. 15, to build a new section of the Appalachian National Scenic Trail near Iron Mountain Gap, outside the town of Unicoi, and about 20 miles from campus.
The public is also invited to join in the project, and can view photos from the October work trip at www.etsu.edu/environmentalstudies/pics/0810apptrail/.
Participants will meet Saturday, Nov. 15, at 9 a.m. in the parking lot at the southeast corner of the University Parkway and South Roan Street intersection and then return following their day’s work at 3 p.m. Each person should wear appropriate clothing and bring a lunch and water.
The venture is sponsored by the ETSU Environmental Studies minor program, in concert with the Tennessee Eastman Hiking and Canoeing Club.
