Wednesday, November 19, 2008JOHNSON CITY – The Ending Fall Bands Concert featuring East Tennessee State University’s Concert Band and Wind Ensemble will be held Tuesday, Nov. 25, at 7:30 p.m. in the D.P. Culp University Center’s Martha Street Culp Auditorium.
Conducted by Dr. Christian Zembower, ETSU director of bands, the student bands will perform Fraley’s “The Darkness is Always Soft,” Boysen’s “Urban Scenes,” Hazo’s “Echoes,” Camphouse’s “Watchman, Tell Us of the Night” and Ross’ “Wildfire.” In addition, the brass from the ETSU Wind Ensemble will present Fisher Tull’s “Variations on an Advent Hymn,” which is centered on the Christmas hymn, “O Come, O Come Emmanuel.”
Admission is free, with a freewill donation asked of those in attendance to go toward costs for the Wind Ensemble’s April 2009 performance at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
