Yasoo Health launches new supplement

Tuesday, January 06, 2009JOHNSON CITY – Yasoo Health Inc., one of the companies in the ETSU Innovation Laboratory, has launched Syndion™, an optimized nutritional supplement that provides support for neuro-developmentally challenged children and adults who have special nutritional needs and food sensitivities.

“Nutrient deficiencies are common among children and adults with developmental disorders,” said Dr. Andreas M. Papas, president of Yasoo Health. “Food sensitivities, allergies and dietary interventions, such as gluten-free and casein-free diets, may cause them to lack essential vitamins and minerals necessary for good nutrition and development. Digestive and intestinal problems can result in malabsorption of vitamins and minerals.”

Several scientists at Yasoo Health Inc. are serving as research or adjunct faculty at East Tennessee State University and have collaborated in research and clinical studies with the James H. Quillen College of Medicine.

Syndion™ is an antioxidant-rich multivitamin and mineral supplement specially formulated with unique microsphere technology to help overcome malabsorption of fat-soluble vitamins and antioxidants.

“A pilot study indicated beneficial effects on the Autism Treatment Evaluation Checklist (ATEC) in all areas, including speech/language comprehension, sociability, sensory/cognitive awareness, and health/physical behaviors. There was a 26 percent improvement in the total ATEC score,” reports Dr. James Adams, an autism researcher at Arizona State University.

Syndion™ is a liquid supplement that can be taken directly or mixed in a beverage. It supports normal plasma levels and urinary excretion of heavy metals and contains important vitamins and antioxidants that support normal methylation, sulfation, and detoxification pathways.

Syndion™ originated when the father of two children with autism was ordering Aqua-E®, a liquid water-soluble Vitamin E product from Yasoo Health, and expressed his need for a complete nutritional supplement utilizing the microsphere absorption technology. This father facilitated contact between Yasoo Health and Dr. Adams at Arizona State, and a pilot study was conducted. Results are expected on the full clinical study this year.

Improved sleep, focus, socialization, language and eye contact were among the significant improvements parents witnessed in their children who were taking Syndion™. Yasoo officials believe this product may provide nutritional support for a number of other similar neurological conditions.

Yasoo Health develops innovative, research-based products consisting of essential nutrients and natural compounds to help overcome malabsorption and reduce oxidative stress and inflammation in chronic diseases. Yasoo Health has offices in Johnson City and in Morrisville, N.C., as well as operations in Nicosia, Cyprus.
