AMSA- American Medical Student Association

Check back here in August
for Fall 2017 meeting dates.

The American Medical Student Association is committed to improving health care and healthcare delivery to all people; promoting active improvement in medical education; involving its members in the social, moral, and ethical obligations of the profession of medicine; assisting in the improvement and understanding of world health problems; contributing to the welfare of medical students, pre-medical students, interns, residents, and post-MD/DO trainees; and advancing the profession of medicine.

The American Medical Student Association (AMSA) at ETSU makes you a more competitive applicant by integrating hands-on experience, community involvement, and networking with the local medical community. In the past, we've offered our members opportunities to attend suture workshops, intubation workshops, mock interviews by admission committee members, and participate in events such as the Wilderness Medical Conference. We have toured various medical schools and been involved in several community events from visiting the Ronald McDonald house to volunteering at free medical clinics.

Membership in AMSA at ETSU is available at 2 different levels:

National Level Members will be required to become National AMSA members and pay the $75 membership fee. No local chapter dues are required the year that you apply for national membership. Each following year, National members will pay $10 in chapter dues.

All national members who remain active throughout their time at ETSU will receive a stoal or cords to wear at graduation.

University Level Members will pay $20 each school year and will not be eligible for a stole or cords at graduation.
