Women on Wednesday: "Women in Literature: Kenyan Women Writers and Their Dialogues on Issues Affecting African Women" with Dr. Martha Michieka
D.P. Culp Center Room 3 at Noon
Dr. Martha Michieka will discuss how Kenyan women writers voice the concerns of African women through their writings. This event serves to highlight the importance of women authors and their roles in telling the woman's story from an angle that only women can tell. Dr. Michieka is an Associate Professor in the Department of Literature and Language at East Tennessee State University where she teaches African literature among other courses. Her research interests include World Englishes, Sociolinguistics, and second language teaching.

All students, faculty, staff, and community members are encouraged to join us to honor survivors of sexual violence and celebrate the resiliency of survivors. A brief program of music and thoughtful reflection will be followed by a reception. Sponsored by OASIS (Outreach and Advocacy Sexuality Information for Students), ETSU Counseling Center, Kappa Delta, and the Women's Resource Center.

Here they come... men in heels. Their mission? To crush sexual violence! OASIS (Outreach & Advocacy Sexuality Information for Students) is your campus' sexual and relationship violence prevention program, and we are pleased to announce that this will be the 2nd annual march at ETSU! Registration and show pick-up starts at 5 P.M. Sponsored by OASIS, SACETN (Sexual Assault Center of East Tennessee), Kappa Delta, Basler CPA, RHA, Planned Parenthood, and Women's Resource Center.
