String Chamber Music Festival at East Tennessee State University
Festival canceled for the Summer of 2020
Dear ETSU Chamber Festival Community,
We hope this message finds you all safe and healthy. It is with great sadness that
we must announce this news. Due to safety concerns that have arisen from the COVID-19
pandemic, we have decided to cancel the 2020 installment of the Festival. While we
were so excited to welcome you back to ETSU in June, this decision is necessary to
prioritize the health and safety of all festival participants. 2021 festival dates
will be posted later this summer.
ETSU Campus (Summer 2021 info)
Participating students will be placed into chamber groups and/or a chamber orchestra based on their auditions. Each chamber group will receive daily coachings from the festival faculty in preparation for the final concert. All ensembles will perform selected movements from chamber music masterworks. Students will have the opportunity to participate in additional enrichment music classes during the festival.
The ETSU campus is located in the beautiful foothills of the Appalachian mountains in northeastern Tennessee. This idyllic location, combined with the engaging and dedicated faculty, yield an inspiring setting for this incredible festival!
