Barry "Po" Hannah began playing guitar professionally at age 16. Po holds a Bachelor’s
degree in journalism from the University of Mississippi and a master’s in jazz studies
from the University of Tennessee. He also studied jazz and classical guitar at the
University of Southern Mississippi and with Richard Provost of the Hartt School. Po’s
varied musical experience includes performances with artists as diverse as rock and
roll icon Bobby Rydell, jazz masters Wallace Roney and Ira Sullivan, Widespread Panic’s
JoJo Hermann, and Americana singer/songwriter Robinella. Musical theatre credits include
Bye Bye Birdie, Oklahoma, Grease, Working, Xanadu, and Violet. Po
lives in Knoxville with his wife, Katie, where he stays active as a guitar instructor
and sideman, playing jazz, country, rock, and musical theatre.
