Rana Duncan-Daston

Dr. Duncan-Daston has eighteen years of teaching experience in social work education. Prior to her teaching career, she worked as a licensed clinical social worker in various settings for thirteen years, followed by two years as a crime victim advocate, plus she has experience in community net-working and organizational start-up. She has taught theory, practice, biopsychosocial assessment (psychopathology), curriculum integration, and advanced clinical practice electives. Her scholarship and research interests are in the areas of (listed chronologically): field placement issues; pedagogy (teaching poverty/motivation to read the textbook/teaching psychodynamic psychotherapy), social media and social work education, ethical decision-making, and spirituality. Dr. Duncan-Daston is a site visitor for the Council on Social Work Education, a member of the Society of Spirituality and Social Work, and a member of the National Association of Social Workers.
