The Reece Museum’s permanent collection consists of over 22,000 artifacts.
The regional artifact collection is comprised of textiles, musical instruments, archaeological artifacts, and agricultural implements, as well as, a growing collection of art work from regional artists such as Will Henry Stevens, John Alan Maxwell, and Jack Schrader.
The ETSU History Collection contains items from the early days of the Normal School such as china from the Home Economics Department and athletic uniforms.
The Reece boasts an impressive collection of artifacts and artwork from around the world, largely due to the efforts of the Friends of the Reece Museum in the 1960s. The Friends' primary goal was to establish the Reece as a major repository and exhibition center for art and, to aid in the development of art education and appreciation in the Tri-Cities.
