CSCI 4770/4800 Senior Project Class
The senior project class is required of all CS and IT majors in the Department of Computing. It is a combination of classroom discussions, class assignments and hands-on, service learning work. Each student is assigned to a public school, non-profit organization, or campus unit where they can use their computer skills to provide a service. The requirement is to spend 75 hours on service learning for the semester (approximately five hours per week). The class meeting time is used to discuss current technology issues, vocational challenges and topics on professional conduct in the workplace. The students work with the Career and Internship Office to prepare a professional resume. Weekly journals along with other oral and written assignment will also be required. Senior Project is a finishing class designed to give students the tools they need to find a job and then prosper in a real world setting.
