Lieutenant Colonel Shawn Dodge graduated from the University of Oregon, Eugene, OR in 2000 and received an Active Duty commission from the ROTC program as an Armor Officer.
After completing his Armor Officer Basic Course at Ft. Knox, KY, his first assignment was with 1-33 Armor Battalion, Ft. Lewis, WA, where he served as a Tank Platoon Leader and Cavalry Troop Executive Officer from 2001-2003. LTC Dodge was reassigned in 2003 to 2-8 Field Artillery, where he served as the Battalion’s S-2. As a branch detailed Officer, LTC Dodge transitioned to Military Intelligence in 2004 after attending the Officer Transition Course in Ft. Huachuca, AZ. Additionally, LTC Dodge served as the Officer in Charge for the Forward Support Element, United State Army Reserve liaison to the Leadership Development and Assessment Course (LDAC) at Ft. Lewis, WA, from 2004-2008. While serving in Washington, LTC Dodge completed his Master’s Degree in Business Administration, from Saint Martin’s University in Olympia, WA.
Following his assignments in Washington, LTC Dodge attended the Military Intelligence Advanced Course in Ft. Huachuca, AZ. Upon graduation, LTC Dodge was assigned to the 715th Military Intelligence Battalion in Schofield Barracks (Honolulu), HI, where he served as the Company Commander for Headquarters Company from 2009-2010. While in Command, LTC Dodge was nominated and subsequently selected as the Army Athlete of the Year (distance running) which enabled him to represent the Army at numerous distance running events in the United States and abroad. LTC Dodge was next assigned to serve as an Assistant Professor of Military Science at the University of San Francisco in San Francisco, CA, where he served from 2011-2014. During this assignment, LTC Dodge completed the Distance Learning Command and General Staff College.
Upon completion of Command and General Staff College, LTC Dodge was selected to serve as the Battalion Executive Officer for the 338th Military Intelligence Battalion (interrogation) in Ft Sam Houston (San Antonio), TX, from 2014-2015. Upon recommendation for promotion to LTC, he was nominated into his current position as the Brigade Deputy Commander for the 505th Military Intelligence Brigade (Theater), a brand new Theater Intelligence Brigade supporting Army North and Northern Command, in Camp Bullis (San Antonio), TX.
LTC Dodge’s awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and Army Achievement Medal. He is also Airborne qualified. LTC Dodge is married to Danielle Dodge and has three children, Tyler (10), Ryan (8) and Madison (5).
