Clemmer College Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
WELCOME!
Clemmer College is committed to promoting the values of diversity, equity, inclusion, justice, and belongingness through enhancing cultural competency, fostering socially responsible and just leadership, and preparing students for global citizenship. Clemmer College explores our curriculum, history, and engagement with others through the lens of equity and inclusion both inside and outside the classroom. We promote these values in scholarly activities, teaching, research, service, and recruitment and retention of students, faculty, and staff. Clemmer College aims to foster a safe environment that facilitates questioning, open dialogue, diverse perspectives, critical thinking, and life-long learning.
Clemmer College explores our curriculum, history, and engagement with others through many vantage points including, but not limited to the lens of equity and inclusion both inside and outside the classroom. Clemmer College aims to supply students with the skills needed to address social and economic disparities and barriers, working towards the betterment of conditions for all. Our goals to increase diversity and cultural competence are tied to our academic mission to provide our students with the requisite awareness, knowledge, and skills needed to succeed in a highly diverse world.
Our work is guided by the core principles and values of Clemmer College and ETSU, which articulate the importance of people and authenticity, embracing diversity of thought and culture, and promoting an environment where people come first. Through these values, we develop our students into responsible community stewards and leaders that enhance the cultural, social, and economic development of our region and beyond.
