Dr. Aimee Lee Govett served as the Chairholder for the James H. Quillen Chair of Excellence in Education (2014-2020). She is now science education professor emerita in the Center of Excellence in STEM Education at East Tennessee State University and continues to serve the community in that capacity. As a scholar, Dr. Govett has focused on the development of new ways to introduce and teach science to elementary, middle level and secondary students and their teachers. She has been co-principal investigator on five major National Science Foundation (NSF) grants and principal investigator on two Tennessee Higher Education Commission proposals in the last five years that total over $5 million dollars in funding. Dr. Govett has four refereed publications in national journals and one book chapter. She has given numerous international, national, and regional presentations at major conferences.
