Dr. Aimee Lee Govett acts as the current holder of the Quillen Chair of Excellence in Teaching and Learning. Govett worked with North Side Elementary (NSE) School, Johnson City (JC), for five academic years providing professional development (PD) for teachers; supplying STEM curriculum materials; and assigning graduate students as STEM Professionals. Govett and other college faculty worked with Indian Trail Intermediate School (JC) and Boones Creek Elementary (Washington County) to coordinate Engineering and Mathematics PD for qualifying for TSIN STEM Designated School applications. Govett has been Co-Principal Investigator on four National Science Foundation (NSF) grants. Currently, Govett is Co-Investigator of an NSF grant “Noyce East Tennessee STEM Teacher Recruitment”. (Total funding awarded $5,482,072.)
