About this conference: The Association has developed the Virginia CHC Leadership Institute Learning Program in response to feedback and requests from Association members.  The program will be delivered over a 9-month period from October 2016 through June 2017, concluding with a certificate of completion for each participant, and continuing education credit for clinicians completing selected activities. The program will be unique for its team focus, best practice content, and action learning format. Expected outcomes for participants include better team and organizational performance, as well as enhanced individual professional development.

Target Audience: Family Medicine Physicians, Internal Medicine Physicians, Psychiatrists, Dentists, Hygienists, Advance Practice Nurses, Physician Assistants, Pharmacists, Psychologists, Nurses, Other medical, dental, emergency personnel, and CHC staff.
Overall Conference Objectives:

As a result of attending this activity, the participant will be able to:

  • Understand the evolving health care system through changes in Medicare, Medicaid, FAMIS, the Virginia Health Insurance Marketplace, health plan strategies, employer health strategies, state and HRSA policies, and community needs.
  • Learn the available best practices for strategic leadership
  • Understand available clinical best practices that are responsive to population health needs
