About this Conference:

This one-day conference addresses basic knowledge topics in psychopharmacology for the primary care provider, psychiatrist, psychologist, social worker, and pharmacist.  Potential topics covered will include psychopharmacology of anxiety disorders; management and sides effects of antipsychotics; psychopharmacology of post-traumatic stress disorder; antidepressants, youth and suicide; liver metabolites; co-medicating with electroconvulsive therapy; titration in pregnant women; and interactions of psychotropics with other medications.

Target Audience:

Physicians from family medicine and psychiatry, advanced practice nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, psychologists, nurses, medical students, and nursing students.

Overall Conference Objectives:

As a result of participating in this activity, the attendee should be able to:

1. Identify and recognize how to use new medications on the market

2. Consider and evaluate side effect profiles of new agents

3. Compare and contrast newer medications versus older ones as regards benefits and side effects

4. Make reasonable risk-benefit analysis of medications in a variety of diagnostic conditions

5. Engage in mutual discussions with peers as to how to employ new medications most efficaciously

**Residents must submit a letter of confirmation of current resident/fellow status on organizational letterhead and signed by their program director. The letter must be received no later than August 4, 2016 or the full physician fee will be charged.




Cancellation Policy:

Registration fees will be refunded, less a $50.00 administrative fee, for cancellations received in writing a minimum of 14 days prior to the activity date.  No refunds will be given when the registration fee is $50.00 or less, or when a cancellation request is received less than 14 days prior to the start of the activity.  

ETSU Quillen College of Medicine reserves the right to cancel CME activities.  If an activity is canceled, then a full refund of registration fees paid will be given.
