About this Conference:

For eleven years, the Sex Offender Treatment Board which is part of the Tennessee Department of Correction has provided specialized training in sex offender treatment techniques through a mandatory annual training conference.  This course is for all New Providers who need specific training prior to being approved to conduct sex offender treatment in the State of Tennessee.  Also, existing Sex Offender Treatment Providers are required by the State to complete this training annually.  Registration to this conference is by invitation only.

Target Audience:

Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Psychological Examiners, Licensed Professional Counselors, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Family and Marital Therapists

Overall Conference Objectives:

As a result of attending this activity, the participant will be able to:

  • Identify the purpose of a psychosexual evaluation and its purpose within the judicial system.
  • Develop an overall understanding of the Public Safety Act and how assessments and treatment will be impacted.
  • Describe how adherence to ATSA standards and guidelines impact services provided under the auspices of the Sex Offender Treatment Board.
  • Describe the three elements of the Containment Model and its impact in Sex Offender Treatment.

This activity is being co-sponsored by Frontier Health and the Office of Continuing Medical Education for up to a total of 21.0 CEs for a New Provider and up to a total of 10.25 CEs for a Current Provider.  These CEs are available on a per-day basis and participants must attend the entire day to receive any credit for that day.  Frontier Health is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists.  Frontier Health maintains responsibility for this program and its content.


This program was approved by the National Association of Social Workers – Tennessee Chapter (Provider Number: NASWTN 2016-0141) for 27.0 continuing education units.


Cancellation Policy:  Registration fees will be refunded, less a $50.00 administrative fee, for cancellations received in writing a minimum of 14 days prior to the activity date. No refunds will be given when the registration fee is $50.00 or less, or when a cancellation request is received less than 14 days prior to the start of the activity.
