About this Conference: One day conference including information on current trends with opioid prescribing and standards and legislation regarding opioids. All providers working with controlled substances need continuing education to meet requirements; yearly trend updates are required. This course is designed to provide new strategies for learners so they can implement new techniques, protocols, and therapies within their scope of practice and apply that information to patient care.

Target Audience: All health care professionals including physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, dentists, and all other providers requiring opioid prescribing credits.
Overall Conference Objectives:

As a result of attending this activity, the participant will be able to:

  • Understand Tennessee chronic pain guideline updates, outcomes of previous efforts in the state, and be able to visualize current prescription related trends.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of prescription opioid misuse and abuse trends.
  • Identify strategies to incorporate evidence based best practice standards for safe opioid prescribing practices into team-based care.

Cancellation Policy:

Registration fees are refundable less a $50.00 administrative fee, for cancellations received in writing a minimum of 14 days prior to the activity date. Refunds are not provided when the registration fee is $50.00 or less, or when a cancellation request is received less than 14 days prior to the start of the activity.

ETSU Quillen College of Medicine reserves the right to cancel CME activities. If an activity is cancelled, registrants will receive a full refund.

Registration: Pre-registration is closed for this activity. Walk-In registrations will be accepted at the door if space allows.
