About this Conference:
This one-day live activity will include discussion of prescribing practices and chronic pain guidelines, evidence for the efficacy of pain medications, applying SBIRT techniques, and various prevention and harm reduction programs.  Attendees will become more familiar with the use of the Controlled Substances Monitoring Database, medically assisted treatment, the use of naloxone, and the role of adverse childhood experiences on adult trauma and behavior.  This activity will include didactic sessions relating to issues of opioid prescribing, use and the intended and unintended consequences.

Target Audience:
Family medicine physicians, internal medicine physicians, OB/GYN physicians, pediatricians, emergency medicine physicians, advanced practice nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, psychologists, medical students, nursing students, and addiction prevention specialists.

Overall Conference Objectives:
As a result of attending this activity, the participant will be able to:

  • Discuss complex issues related to opioid prescribing in various settings.
  • Demonstrate ways for multiple sectors to collaborate and communicate to best support patients.

Cancellation Policy:
Registration fees are refundable less a $50.00 administrative fee, for cancellations received in writing a minimum of 14 days prior to the activity date. Refunds are not provided when the registration fee is $50.00 or less, or when a cancellation request is received less than 14 days prior to the start of the activity.

ETSU Quillen College of Medicine reserves the right to cancel CME activities. If an activity is cancelled, registrants will receive a full refund.
