  • By team members taking the areas to assess and determine the strengths and weaknesses of the organization. This is rolled into the strategic plan (short/long term goal) assessment.
Assessment Type Pros
Full scale assessment. Train two teams, have one team write an application, the other conduct the visit and evaluation. In-depth
AMP style round table assessment. AMP is a company that has developed this. Top and mid level managers complete one day of training, do a 3x5 card responses to the criteria as homework, then meet for two days to do an evaluation and prepare action plans. Less expensive, fast, and results in some prioritization action plans.
Simply Better. A small team is formed for each of the 7 criteria. They follow the guidelines in the SB process to perform an assessment and evaluation. Easy to understand. Does not require outside facilitator. Minimal cost. Preview provides a good overview, understanding, and helps focus. Free.
Use behaviorally anchored checklist for the evaluation, followed by a two day session to prioritize actions and develop plans. Checklist assures better understanding of current behaviors of organization, encompasses more peoples opinions, is quick and easy to administer.
