Lauren Swift, MD
Dr. Lauren Swift holds many important jobs/titles within the department of pediatrics. She is an Assistant Professor, Residency Program Director, and Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine. Dr. Swift has been the Residency Program Director since 2021, and she has been working as a Pediatric Hospitalist at Niswonger Children’s Hospital since July 2019. Dr. Swift loves caring for the children in the region, but she also loves being a key member of teaching residents. It is something she considers the greatest achievement of her career so far. “I really love getting to work with residents and watching them grow into compassionate, competent pediatricians! To see a new intern grow and flourish into a doctor ready to practice independently is so rewarding.” When Dr. Swift is not caring for the little ones in the hospital or teaching the young learners striving to be doctors, she likes to spend time with her 3 dogs and husband! She is also an avid traveler. She recently visited Mexico and is hoping they will soon visit Tokyo! Dr. Swift also loves to read, spend time outdoors (she loves playing disc golf), and going to see live music! Given her last name, you would think she is a “Swiftie” however, she loves the Dave Matthews Band. In fact, she has seen them at least 15 times! If being a doctor did not work out, Dr. Swift would pursue a career being a backup dancer for a big pop star, she used to be a semi-professional dancer! She was a World Famous Kilgore College Rangerette!
