Rural Programs

Quillen College of Medicine

Jeanie Parrott, M.Ed
After teaching school for 30 years and being retired for 2 years, I decided it was time to do something else. The position opened in Rogersville for a site coordinator for Rural and Community Health and Health Partnerships, I applied and got the job in 2007. I am originally from Rogersville, so I know the community well. I work part time and am responsible for planning and implementing activities for first, second & third year medical students: preceptorships, health screenings, community projects, etc. I work closely with the interprofessional course Rural Health Research and Practice.

I have a BS in Early childhood education from UT Knoxville and a Masters in Education from ETSU. I have been married for 35 years to Dr. Larry Parrott, a Baptist minister at Pleasant View Baptist Church in Talbott. We have two daughters and three grandsons and grand-dog. I enjoy reading, traveling, and spending time with our grandsons.
