Center for Rural Health Research
Since its founding, East Tennessee State University has been committed to improving the quality of life in the region and beyond. We honor and preserve our rich and rural heritage through distinctive education, research, and service programs and we are actively engaged in regional stewardship.
To further this vision, the College of Public Health not only provides topic area expertise on the top health issues facing the region, we also engage in academic, community, and national partnerships to expand our reach and our understanding.
The education, research, and service commitments from our faculty focus on areas such
as the opioid epidemic, adverse childhood experiences, communicable and chronic disease,
tobacco use, obesity, rurality and poverty, and limited resource healthcare settings.
Engaging rural communities to advance health and improve quality of life.
