JOHNSON CITY Adam Jarvis, a junior at East Tennessee State University, has been named to the Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC). The appointment was made by Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam.
Jarvis is majoring in public health with a concentration in health care management and policy. During his time at ETSU, he has been active with the ETSU Student Government Association, serving in such roles as senator, chief of staff, and coordinator of the major concert program, and has been a new student orientation leader.
Created in 1967, THEC is the coordinating body for all post-secondary education institutions in Tennessee. Jarvis was appointed as a student member and will serve for a term of two years.
He is the son of Ron and Cindy Jarvis of Cookeville and is a graduate of Upperman High School.
