As of Friday, April 21, 2017, East Tennessee State University began offering clinical services to people in our region suffering from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) in partnership with the ALS Association of Tennessee. This once monthly clinic meets on the second floor of the Quillen ETSU Physicians Building at 325 North State of Franklin Road. The first of its kind in the region, the Gary Shealy Memorial ALS Clinic is open every third Friday of the month from 1 to 4 p.m. offering a wide range of services.
The goal of the clinic is to offer a multidisciplinary approach to the care of people diagnosed with ALS. The following disciplines are represented to provide an all in one clinical experience: neurology, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, dietary, pharmacy, social work, and an ALS Association Liason.
