SURF is a product of the SoCon’s Academic Exchange and is supervised by a panel of faculty members from each conference institution. It welcomes research from the humanities, arts and STEM disciplines.
It regularly brings together undergraduates who, perhaps for the first time, share their research via poster or oral presentations. Unlike many collegiate research gatherings, SURF takes place in the fall to attract students who spent their summer months immersed in their research.
The ETSU students’ participation was coordinated by the Undergraduate Research division within the ETSU Honors College.
