East Tennessee State University Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy is offering a free Pharmacy Career Showcase event on Saturday, Feb. 22, providing students with an opportunity to learn more about the wide variety of pharmacy careers available and the college’s flexible admissions pathways. 

Nationally recognized for student outcomes, the ETSU Gatton College of Pharmacy offers student pharmacists more than 100 leadership opportunities across 14 student organizations.

Check-in will begin at 9 a.m. in Building 7, the main pharmacy building on the Mountain Home VA Campus. The event will end at 2 p.m. with an optional tour. 

The event will include a welcome from Dean Debbie Byrd, hands-on experiences, a chance to talk with student pharmacists and faculty, personalized admissions pathway information and campus tours. A complimentary lunch will be provided. Guests are invited to attend the activities, as well as lunch, if they wish.

“The roles of pharmacists have grown exponentially over the years, from traditional roles in community pharmacies to a wide range of career options, like ambulatory care pharmacy, nuclear pharmacy, clinical pharmacy and much more,” said Steve Ellis, assistant dean for student affairs. “Pharmacists are the most accessible health care providers and serve on the front lines, so we’re excited for prospective students to learn more about this exciting career."

  • Jan. 27 — Applications open for GattonRx Summer Camp, slated for June 2-6: etsu.edu/pharmacycamp.  
  • March 31 — The deadline for high school seniors choosing to attend ETSU or current ETSU first-year students applying for the Early Admissions Pathway into ETSU’s PharmD program. Students can earn both a Bachelor of Science and a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) in six years. Learn more at etsu.edu/rxearlyadmit. 
  • June 2 — Class of 2029 application deadline and last chance to earn a $10,000 Academic Merit Scholarship.
