Brock, a native of Hampton, will begin her two-year term in February 2026.

East Tennessee State University student pharmacist Kaysi Brock, a second-year student at ETSU Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy, is president-elect of the Tennessee Society of Student Pharmacists (TSSP).

Brock, a native of Hampton, will begin her two-year term in February 2026, representing student pharmacists from across Tennessee as a member of the Tennessee Pharmacists Association Board of Directors.

"As a Tennessee native, my love for this state and its people inspired me to pursue pharmacy," said Brock, who also earned her undergraduate degree at ETSU. "I’m truly passionate about giving back to Tennessee and hope to be a servant leader who fosters positive, lasting change.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to advocate for student pharmacists because we are the future of this profession,” Brock continued. “My goal is to work alongside fellow students to improve patient care and advance pharmacy. After graduation, I am committed to making a meaningful impact on patients’ lives.”

The TSSP election process rotates among Tennessee’s six pharmacy schools, with ETSU providing candidates once every six years. Brock is the fourth student pharmacist from ETSU to be elected to this prestigious role.

Brock decided to run for the position last fall, delivering a speech before TSSP students statewide before being elected.

Dr. McKenzie Highsmith, faculty sponsor for ETSU’s TSSP organization, praised Brock’s leadership.

"We are thrilled to have Kaysi elected,” said Highsmith. “Even early in her career as a student pharmacist, she demonstrated an affinity for representing and advocating for both students and pharmacists. With big aspirations, she will represent ETSU and Tennessee on the board of directors, collaborating with students from all six colleges of pharmacy. We’re incredibly proud of her achievements and future impact."
