What Apple version should I use?
Currently version 10 will not complete the connection and is not support. Version 8.0 is fully functional and is the only supported version for Apple desktops and laptopns.
What should I do when "the license store created failed" error message is received?
Some Windows users may see the following error message when opening a RemoteApp: "Error: The remote session was disconected because the license store creation failed with access denied." Please follow the prcoedures listed below in order.
- The first step is to add https://goldlab.etsu.edu to your trusted sites. Instructions follow for different web browsers.
- Internet Explorer instructions:
- Select Tools > Internet Options > and then the Security tab.
- In the Select a Web content zone to specify its current security settings box, select Trusted Sites, and then Sites.
- If you want to add sites that do not require an encrypted channel, remove the check in the Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone check box.
- In the Add this Web site to the zone box, type the https://goldlab.etsu.edu URL, and then select Add.
- Select OK two times to accep the changes and return to Internet Explorer.
- Chrome instructions:
- Select the 3 horizontal lines icon on the far right of the Address bar at the top of the page.
- Select Settings, scroll to the bottom of the page and select the Show Advanced Settings link.
- Select Change proxy settings.
- Choose the Security tab > Trusted Sites icon, then select Sites.
- Enter the https://goldlab.etsu.edu URL, then select Add.
- Select Close > OK.
- Firefox instructions:
- From the Firefox menu, go to Tools > Options ....
- In the Exceptions... dialog box, enter the https://goldlab.etsu.edu URL in the Address of web site: field, then click Allow.
- Internet Explorer instructions:
- After adding the URL to your trusted sites, you will Open a remote desktop session
using administrative privilege.
- Go to Start, select All Programs, and then choose Accessories.
- Right-click Remote Desktop Connection, and then choose Run as administrator.
- if the User Account Control dialog box appears, confirm that the action it displays is what you want, and then select Continue.
- The third step is to Manually edit your computer's Registry:
- Start Registry Editor. To do this, follow these steps:
- Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search. Or, if you are using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, and then click Search. Or, from your keyboard, hit the Windows key and click or tap the magnifiying glass on the upper right.
- In the search box, type regedit.exe.
- Tap or click the displayed regedit.exe icon.
- The Registry Editor window appears.
- Configure permissions for the MSLicensing registry key. To do this, follow these steps:
- Locate the following registry subkey for MSLicensing by clicking or tapping on the arrow to the left of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, then click or tap on the arrow to the left of SOFTWARE, followed by Microsoft, then find MSLicensing.
- Swipe acorss or right-click the MSLicensing key, and then tap or click Permissions.
- Tap or click Add.
- In the Select Users or Groups dialog box, tap or click Locations.
- Select the local computer at the top of the list, and then tap or click OK.
- Type the following value in the Enter the object names to select box:
- ALL APPLICATION PACKAGES
- Tap or click OK.
- In the Permissions for ALL APPLICATION PACKAGES section of the screen, select the check box in the Allow column next to Read, and then tap or click OK.
- Configure permissions for the Store registry key. To do this, follow these steps:
- Locate the following registry subkey for Store by clicking or tapping on the arrow to the left of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, then click or tap on the arrow to the left of SOFTWARE, followed by Microsoft, then find Store.
- Swipe across or right-click the Store key, and then tap or click Permissions.
- Tap or click Add.
- In the Select Users or Groups dialog box, tap or click Locations.
- Select the local computer at the top of the list, and then tap or click OK.
- Type the following value in the Enter the ojbect names to select box:
- ALL APPLICATION PACKAGES
- Tap or click OK
- In the Permissions for ALL APPLICATIONS PACKAGES section of the screen, select the check box in the Allow column next to Read.
- Tap or click Advanced.
- Under the Permissions tab, select the entry for ALL APPLICATION PACKAGES, then tap or click Edit.
- In the Permission Entry for Store window, tap or click the Show advance permission link.
- Make sure that the following four check boxes are selected:
- Query Value
- Set Value
- Create Subkey
- Enumerate Subkeys
- Tap or click OK on the next three screen screens.
- Exit the Registry Editor by clicking the X in the upper right of the window.
