PPP-11 State Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
On April 1, 1990 a statewide Employee Assistance Program (EAP) became effective under the Tennessee State Insurance provisions. Eligibility for participation in the program is determined by the same criteria as that used for State insurance.
The purpose of the EAP is to provide consultation and referral for employees who are experiencing personal problems which are likely to impact work performance and/or personal well being. Counseling services are voluntary and confidential according to Federal guidelines. Examples of problems that may be addressed include alcoholism, substance abuse, emotional, financial, legal problems, and other concerns affecting employee job performance.
Information concerning the EAP has been distributed to all current university employees, and is distributed to all new employees. For further information on this program please contact the Office of Human Resources. All inquiries and employee identities are strictly confidential. Referrals/concerns by supervisors should be made to the Office of Human Resources.
