Executive Briefing at ETSU to feature Joseph Grenny


JOHNSON CITY (September 25, 2013) – Best-selling author and leadership expert Joseph Grenny will be the featured speaker at an Executive Briefing from 9-11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 4, at the Millennium Centre in Johnson City.

Grenny is coauthor and contributor to eight books, including three New York Times bestsellers: “Influence: The Power to Change Anything”; “Crucial Conversations: Tools for Talking When Stakes are High”; and “Crucial Confrontations: Tools for Resolving Broken Promises, Violated Expectations and Bad Behavior.”

Grenny has delivered more than 1,000 speeches in his career on topics ranging from leadership and interpersonal communication to organizational change and effectiveness. He has been cited in dozens of newspapers and featured on over 100 radio and television programs.

Formerly a business results expert, Grenny was president of California Computer Corp.and an executive for the Covey Leadership Center. He cofounded VitaSmarts, which offers award-winning training products based on more than 30 years of ongoing research. VitaSmarts has twice been named as one of the fastest growing companies in America by “Inc.” magazine.

East Tennessee State University’s College of Business and Technology and Eastman Chemical Co. are sponsoring the event, which is part of the Executive Briefing series. The program provides opportunities for regional business and education leaders to benefit from national figures who share their perspectives on achieving performance excellence.
