Reece Museum available for campus, community gatherings


JOHNSON CITY (September 23, 2013) – The Reece Museum at East Tennessee State University now accepts venue rental requests for its newly renovated space and is available for meetings, celebrations, receptions or seminars.

“The Reece Museum is a one-of-a-kind venue,” said Museum Director Theresa Hammons.  “Our renovated spaces allow us to offer a special experience for campus and community organizations.

The museum has four event spaces.

Two 800-square-foot galleries featuring the museum’s trademark six-foot, arched windows can each accommodate up to 150 standing guests or 30 seated guests at tables.

The largest gallery (1,000 square feet) is ideal for larger lectures and performances.  It can accommodate up to 300 standing guests or 100 seated guests at tables.

The Early History of Country Music gallery, featuring artifacts representing the region’s musical heritage, is suitable for small group meetings and intimate performances.  It will accommodate 30 standing guests or eight seated guests at tables.

A kitchenette and staff conference room are available for catering and staging purposes at no additional charge.
