Dr. Lynn Williams co-chairing national ASHA convention

JOHNSON CITY (November 14, 2014) – East Tennessee State University’s Dr. Lynn Williams will co-chair the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association’s national convention later this month in Orlando.

ASHA is the national, professional, scientific and credentialing association with more than 173,000 members and affiliates who are audiologists; speech-language pathologists; speech, language and hearing scientists; audiology and speech-language pathology support personnel; and students.

More than 15,000 people are expected to attend the conference, which has a theme this year of “Science. Learning. Practice. Generations of Discovery.” At the three-day conference, attendees learn about the latest research, polish clinical skills, improve treatment techniques and gain new tools and resources to advance professional development.

In addition to organizing the event, Williams, associate dean of academic affairs for the College of Clinical and Rehabilitative Health Sciences and a speech-language pathologist, has multiple speaking sessions scheduled throughout the convention.

The ASHA convention takes place Nov. 20-22.
