M.S.W. Asheville

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (Feb. 5, 2015) – The East Tennessee State University Department of Social Work will offer its unique Part-Time Two-Year Advanced Standing Master of Social Work Program in Asheville beginning this summer.
This program is ideal for individuals with the bachelor of social work degree who are currently employed in human services in Western North Carolina and are interested in part-time graduate study, according to Dr. Kelly Reath, associate professor and director of the Master of Social Work Program in the ETSU Department of Social Work.
The program will operate on the cohort model, in which a group of students enter and progress through an academic program together. Students will receive the same education in Asheville as traditional students who attend classes on the main ETSU campus in Johnson City, Tenn.
Classes will meet at the Lenoir-Rhyne University Center for Graduate Studies of Asheville, 36 Montford Ave., on Fridays from 9 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m.
The application deadline is April 1. The program is pending Southern Association of Colleges and Schools approval.
