Entrepreneurs Club Depelteau

JOHNSON CITY (Jan. 25) — The East Tennessee State University student Entrepreneurs’ Club will meet at ETSU’s Innovation Laboratory on Monday, Feb. 1, at 5 p.m. in the Paul and Nancy Stanton Board Room.
Speakers at the event will be Dr. Audrey Depelteau, director, and Liz Lewis, assistant director of Innovation Lab, a high-tech business incubator and one of only 31 incubators worldwide to receive the International Business Innovation Association’s prestigious Soft Landings designation. Their presentation, “A Walk on the Wild Side,” will highlight their multi-faceted endeavors.
According to Depelteau, “Directing the Innovation Lab is a bit like entrepreneurship, where every day is a walk in the unknown, facing novel challenges, consulting with a diverse group of individuals, being creative and ‘pivoting’ when needed.”
A tour of the Innovation Lab will also be provided.
Depelteau came to ETSU in 2009 and has been director of Innovation Lab for five years. Recently, she has been working with the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development to facilitate export opportunities for Tennessee-based businesses.
Lewis recently received her M.B.A. from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. She became assistant director of Innovation Lab in October 2015.
The public is invited to this free program at Innovation Lab, 2109 W. Market St. For additional information, contact Mitzi Brookshear at brookshe@etsu.edu or 423-439-7444. For disability accommodations, call the ETSU Office of Disability Services at 423-439-8346.
