JOHNSON CITY (Aug. 9, 2018) — The Tennessee Small Business Development Center (TSBDC) at East Tennessee State University will hold three events for entrepreneurs in August at the ETSU Innovation Laboratory, 2109 W. Market St.
Marketing consultant Cindy Hagemann will lead Using LinkedIn to Grow Your Network and Business on Thursday, Aug. 16, from 1-2:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring laptops to follow along and improve their LinkedIn profiles. Hagemann has been training business professionals and college students how to utilize the benefits of LinkedIn since 2008. The workshop is $25 per person and pre-registration is required
On Thursday, Aug. 23, the TSBDC will host Hands-On Training Using Facebook Advertising Tool – Power Editor from 10 a.m. to noon. This advanced Facebook workshop for business page admins will cover how to create three campaigns – a like campaign, an engagement post to amplify reach and a call-to-action ad to help increase traffic to a business website. Attendees should have visuals and content ready to use if creating an ad during the workshop, which is being led by M. Valentina Escobar-Gonzalez, founder of Beyond Engagement – Social Media Solutions. The workshop is $50 per person and pre-registration is required.
Intro to Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies is a free presentation by John Cannon on Tuesday, Aug. 28 from 9-11 a.m. Cannon, author of BTC-101 An Introduction to Bitcoin, will help others understand the significance of this new technology. The presentation is free, but registration is recommended as seating is limited.
