100% Online Graduate Certificate
The Instructional Design Graduate Certificate provides advanced coursework directed at evidence-based practices for developing and implementing effective instructional content. Coursework in this certificate is not directed solely toward teachers but is applicable to education, health care, and corporate sectors.
This program is offered through the Department of Educational Foundations and Special
Education. The department offers undergraduate and gradute degrees as well as two
graduate certificate programs.
This fully online program requires a completion of 18 semester credit hours and must
be completed with six years from the date of enrollment in the earliest course applied
toward the certificate.
ETSU School of Graduate Studies Admission Requirements:
A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution. Degrees from non-accredited institutions will be evaluated on an individual basis.
An undergraduate GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale for domestic students, and a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for international students. (Some programs may require a higher GPA.)
A completed application form.
A personal essay of 150-300 words, detailing your interests in a graduate program at ETSU.
A non-refundable application fee.
One official transcript from every college or university where the applicant has taken courses.
Program Specific Admission Requirements:
The following are required in addition to the School of Graduate Studies requirements.
A minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.75* on a 4.0 scale. *3.0 GPA for international applicants as per school of graduate studies requirement.
Submission of a 2-page essay outlining goals beyond achieving the certificate in Instructional Design.

Border County Information: Students in North Carolina and Virginia living in counties bordering Tennessee may
