Organizations
The Multicultural Center sponsors six diverse student organizations that bring a sense of belonging and community for our students.

Black Affairs Association
Black Affairs is an organization that is open to all students at the university. This organization serves as a source of encouragement for students to become involved invarious campus-wide activities. The primary purpose of the organization is to provide a wholesome and supportive environment where students of color are able to interact and participate in activities together. The Black Affairs Association sponsors many major events and activities throughout the year, such as Homecoming, an annual Comedy Show, and Open Mic. This group has many outstanding achievements, including awards in multicultural and social programming for the campus. -
Chinese Student and Scholars Association
The Chinese Student and Scholar Association at ETSU (CSSA @ ETSU), is a student organization aiming to promote social, cultural, and academic activities among our members. Our members are mostly, but not limited to, students and scholars who have shared roots in China. -
Gospel Choir
The Gospel Choir is a very diverse organization lead by its elected student executive board. It is open to all students and offers the opportunity to serve the community through voluntary work and singing, displaying their talents on campus, as well as surrounding areas throughout Tennessee and the bordering states, spreading the word of God. -
International Choir
The International choir brings together students from diverse backgrounds around the globe to sing as one. Through the unifying power of music, the choir touches lives on campus, throughout Tennessee and the surrounding areas with inspirational music. -
International Student Association
The International Student Association brings together students from different countries to promote awareness of cultural diversity and global understanding within the university and the broader Johnson City community. The association strives to represent the voice of the entire international student body and to provide support and assistance for international students in their transitions to the United States by creating a welcoming environment. ISA serves as a platform for both international students and domestic students to engage in various social activities and cultural events throughout the year that facilitate the formation of strong, special international bonds of friendship that last beyond borders and forever after. -
Shades of Africa
Shades of Africa, is a student organization that is interested in uniting African students and non-African students by facilitating interaction through activities and events. We seek to create cultural awareness, social and scholarly growth of African students. This organization promotes an understanding of the diverse African cultures that are present on the campus. SOA encourages the ability to commune and share diverse cultures, resulting in strength, growth and awareness, breaking down stereotypes and fostering an atmosphere of understanding and mutual respect.
