Campus Projects and Actions

ETSU Sustainability

New buildings and renovations on campus must comply with the TBR Sustainable Design Guidelines which are equivalent to U.S. Green Building Council's LEED (Leadership in Energy and Efficiency Design) Guidelines. These guidelines are a minimum standard and guideline for designers to insure that the principles of good sustainable design and construction practices are being implemented on all State of Tennessee projects.

Buc Ridge Apartment Complex

The newest buildings in the Buccaneer Ridge Apartment Complex are the first buildings on campus to have been built using the TBR Sustainable Design Guidelines. Some of the unique features of these buildings include a variable refrigerant HVAC system, a bioswale and dry swale for Stormwater Retention, Low Energy Use Elevators, and permeable paving in the parking areas.
