Tennessee Intervention for Pregnant Smokers

East Tennessee State University

CME Training Registration
Just for completing the 5 A's training, you can receive 2.5 CME (Continuing Medical Education) credits.  The training is free to you and will be administered at your practice by a licensed clinical psychologist and 5 A's expert.  You can also get CME credits for annual "refresher" training.

We request that all physicians and as many staff as possible participate in the training at your site. Upon being trained, the 5 A's intervention should be implemented with every pregnant smoker and an office procedure should be developed to document this in medical charts. Your practice will also be offered monetary incentives for consistent and ongoing involvement and implementation. Even if you are already doing some form of smoking cessation counseling, this will help you streamline the process, improve effectiveness by using best-practice guidelines supported by ACOG, receive feedback on use and effectiveness, and provide data that will allow other practices to implement similar smoking cessation interventions.
