What is the English Table?
The English Table is an informal learning group that meets weekly in the Center for Academic Achievement (CFAA) in Sherrod Library.
What is the purpose of the English Table?
The purpose of the English Table is three-fold: (1) to help international students become better speakers and listeners of American English, (2) to help international students become more informed about the American culture and way life, and (3) to help all students become more aware and respectful of the diversity of cultures represented here at ETSU.
Who can come to the English Table?
Students, staff, faculty, and community members from all countries are welcome. American students who are interested in learning about other cultures and languages are also encouraged to attend.
When does the English Table meet?
Because the English Table is usually led by a graduate student facilitator, the meeting day and time may change from semester to semester. Meeting times for the spring semester are Thursday evenings from 5:00-6:00 pm.
