Senior Soccer Players

Senior, Justice Zblewski. He has been at UH for 4 years, and this is his first year on the soccer team, and he played left back, #23. Justice has also played club with FC Dallas for 3 years. His hobbies are gaming with the boys, and he plans on attending Northeast State and majoring in Computer Science. His proudest accomplishment was actually getting to play in a game. Justice's favorite soccer memory was watching Ethan fall in the gym, and his most embarassing moment was throwing up at practice. His advice to future players is "work hard and be humble." He would like to give special thanks to "the boys".

Senior, Johnathan (John) Luke Wyche, 1st year Centerback, #16. John has been at UH since Kindergarten! He has played rec soccer for 10 years, and 1 year for UH. John also played basketball and baseball growing up, and has been in Boy Scouts for 4 years. He enjoys bear hunting with hounds and scuba diving. He plans to join the Air Force and train in a profession. His proudest accomplishemnts are earning his Eagle Scout and staying at UH 13 years. His most embarassing soccer moment was "getting a yellow card in the few games we got to play." His advice to future players is "Always stretch out of practice. Always choose 2 when deciding between 1 or 2. Don't touch the cones." He would like to give special thanks to "the excellent coaching staff for all the great memories we made while it lasted. Also special thanks to Coach Merv for pushing us in training."
(P.S. This writer would like to add that my proudest soccer moment of John was the 3rd game of the season, which was also the final game of the 2020 season, where he led his JV team as captain, and played the game of his life as shown in these pictures, in my opinion. Little did any of us know, that was the end of the season, but John left it all on the pitch.)

Senior, Ethan Bennett. Ethan has been at UH for 6 years, and this is his first year on the UH Soccer Team, playing center back as #1. He has played 4 years for Parks and Rec, and 3 years for FC Dallas. He also enjoys disc golf. Ethan is very proud of the UH team being the Indoor Soccer Season Champions for 2019-2020. His favorite soccer memory is trying to not fall over the gym chair in a practice, and his most embarassing moment is falling over the gym chair. Ethan's advice to future players is "be respectful, and play to your full potential." He would like to give special thanks to his great-grandmother Shirley.
(P.S. Ethan is also famous for making insane bicycle kicks, see the first pic!)

Senior, Hayden Avery Tolley, nicknames Gaffer, and HayHay. He has been at UH since the 4th grade and has always played defense, being #18 his freshman year, and #6 ever since. He has also played Vitesse Club for 1 year, and for the Meth Gators FC Indoor Team, since their establishment in 2019. Hayden also enjoys watching and training boxing and MMA, playing FIFA with Harrison and the Boys, and being a TSSAA Soccer referee. His awards include being voted the superlative of "Mr. University High" by the senior class, being in the Beta Club, and receiving an ETSU Presidential Scholarship. He has also played varisty middle school basketball and varsity high school basketball, both for two years. Hayden will be attending ETSU as a Nutrition major, and then attend Optometry School. His proudest accomplishments are being named Senior Soccer Captain, and leading the UH Morning Announcements and the student section at basketball games with Will.
His favorite soccer memories are scoring his first goal against Sullivan South his sophomore year, bus rides with Will Owen, Malachi Heath, and Walker Page, and riding to practice and games his freshman year with his brother Harrison. His most embarassing soccer moment was "getting a red card for slapping the ball, although it was an honor to receive the "Michael Jackson glove" award afterwards from Coach Burns." Hayden's advice to future players is "Don't get a red card because you will have to have a meeting with Coach and school administration.....unless you just want to get out of class. ON a more serious note, don't waste your time being nervous or anxious. It gets you nowhere, and your soccer career is too short to waste your time and energy on that."
Hayden would like to thank his mom and dad for all their hard work behind the scenes, Harrison for being his training partner and post-game analyst, his grandparents for their continuous encouragement, and all his friends and family who came to watch his games.
His final words are "I know that this year is not what was supposed to happen, but I hope everyone else can learn from the fact that you should enjoy every second of every practice, because I know I did ever since freshman year."

Senior, William Ray Owen, aka Will. Will has been at UH since the 4th grade. He has played Left Wing, Right Wing, and Center Mid. He has played soccer for 5 years at UH, and 1 year with Vitesse Club. He also enjoys hiking, FIFA, and eating. In the 6th grade he served in the SGA. His future plans are to take a gap year from college and move out to work in Sydney, Australia. After that, he will come back and major in Business at ETSU. His proudest accomplishment is getting to know the senior boys throughout high school. His favorite Soccer memory is seeing Hayden Avery Tolley score his first goal for high school. His most embarassing soccer moment is "When I would get hurt, I'm not a wimp". His advice to future players is "Listen to Coach, It'll make things a lot easier." He would like to give special thanks to all 3 of his coaches this year. "We never got to show it, but I truly think this was the most prepared for a state run we have ever had, and they were the reason why, and finally, my brother." Will shares "I always thought I disliked UH, but at the end of the day and the end of high school, I know I can say I wouldn't be the same person I am now if it wasn't for the school and the guys I was surrounded by." We wish you all the best Will!
