Art 1 Syllabus

 Art 1 offers a comprehensive exploration of basic techniques and processes relating to two-dimensional (drawing, painting, and printmaking) and three-dimensional (sculpture) art.  Students will use basic media including graphite and colored pencils, chalk and oil pastels, charcoal, ink, watercolor, acrylic paint and clay.  Throughout the year, we will discuss artists and the history of art as they related to specific lessons. Design elements (line, value, shape, form, color, space, texture) and design principles pertaining to composition and perspective are also introduced.
