Day, Preswood, and Ziglar Attend Partners in Education Conference

University School administrator Ms. Ariane Day (Assistant Director), and faculty members Dr. Erica Preswood (Technology Instructor/Testing Coordinator), and Ms. Holley Ziglar (RTI Interventionist/504 Coordinator), attended the 2020 Partners in Education (PIE) Conference, Passport to the Future, held January 27-30, 2020 at the Music City Center in Nashville.

The theme of the conference was “Stronger Together” which included the focus areas of: multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) academics and non-academics, early childhood, postsecondary readiness for students with disabilities, special education: a continuum of service, accountability, and compliance in special education, increasing access to core instruction, culturally inclusive practices, early literacy, and gifted services and programming.  The Tennessee Department of Education has partnered with Transition Tennessee to highlight evidence-based practices that prepare students with disabilities to be successful in postsecondary education, employment, and independent living.  More information can be found on the TN Department of Education website.
