Southern Appalachian Science and Engineering Fair
The Middle School Science Club led by Mrs. Reis participated in the Southern Appalachian Science and Engineering Fair (SASEF) sponsored by the University of Tennessee, held virtually on March 31st.  All of these students put in a considerable amount of time and hard work into their projects. Every student on our team received awards for their projects as follows:

 

Overall Junior Division Winners
Anjali Ananthula in 2nd place "Does music affect short-term memory?"
Teebro Paul in 4th place "Painkillers – Generic or Brand-Name?"
 

Anjali and Teebro also received a Junior Division Certificate of Excellence Award and Broadcom MASTERS (Math, Applied Science, Technology and Engineering for Rising Stars) nomination. This nomination is given to the top 10% of society-affiliated science fairs to compete at the national level.

Sathvik Ramu "What color text works bet for reading comprehension for middle schoolers?"
Diya Reddy "How Does Exercise Affect Memory?"

These students were determined by the judges to be of exceptional merit.
