MALS Home
The Master of Arts in Liberal Studies (MALS) is a flexible, interdisciplinary program firmly grounded in the values of interdisciplinary learning. MALS not only allows students to design a unique program of study that crosses departmental boundaries, but also allows them to focus their studies in areas where courses exist, but for which there are no specific degree programs, (e.g. Appalachian studies, gender studies, religion and spirituality). In addition, MALS is home to the concentration in archival studies and the certificate in archival studies.
