Visit ETSU Any Time of Year!

ETSU welcomes visitors all year. Weekdays are the ideal time to visit campus because classes are in session. Campus tours are given during Fall and Spring semesters (September through April) at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The summer tour schedule (May, June, and July) consists of one tour daily at 1:00 p.m. Admissions personnel are available from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Reservations should be made one week in advance of your tour.

Driving Directions to East Tennessee State University

Johnson City, Tennessee

1. Coming from the north, south and west, use I-81.
2. Exit onto I-26 toward Johnson City/Asheville.
3. Take exit 24 onto University Parkway and follow the signs to campus.
4. Coming from the east, take I-26 from Asheville, N.C., then 24 onto University Parkway. Follow the signs to campus.

Directions to ETSU at Kingsport

From Johnson City:

1. Travel I-26 toward Kingsport.
2. Take Exit 1, then turn left onto Highway 11W (West Stone Drive).
3. Travel approximately four miles on 11W.
4. Turn right onto University Boulevard at the traffic light where Pizza Hut and Citizens Bank are located.
5. Stay on University Boulevard for approximately one mile. University Boulevard runs into ETSU at Kingsport parking lot.

From Hawkins County:

1. Travel east on Highway 11W.
2. Turn left onto University Boulevard at the traffic light where Pizza Hut and Citizens Bank are located.
3. Stay on University Boulevard for approximately one mile. University Boulevard runs into ETSU at Kingsport parking lot.

Directions to ETSU at Bristol

From Johnson City, TN:

1. Go north on North Roan Street, past the Johnson City Mall on the left. Continue 1.4 miles until the road forks.
2. Take the right fork, Highway 11E, to Bristol.
3. Continue on 11E for 13 miles to the stoplight at Bristol Motor Speedway, which will be on the right.
   The road becomes Volunteer Parkway.
4. Go 3.5 miles to the fork. At the fork, bear left, remaining on Volunteer Parkway.
5. Go through the traffic light and continue 0.7 miles to Executive Park Plaza on the right.
6. Turn right into the parking lot at the "ETSU at Bristol" sign.
7. Go straight to the top of the hill to Building 600.

From Interstate 81, going North:

1. Take Tennessee exit 74A at the Bristol Regional Medical Center to West State Street.
2. Travel 11W north on State Street 2.6 miles to the fast food section of town.
3. Then go 1.2 miles to the traffic light at the intersection of State, Volunteer, and Commonwealth Avenues.
4. Turn right onto Volunteer Parkway. Travel about four miles to Executive Park Plaza on the left.
5. Turn left into the parking lot at the "ETSU at Bristol" sign.
6. Go to Building 600 at the top of the hill in the parking lot.

Visitor Parking

All visitors to the campus must obtain a visitor’s parking permit from the Department of Public Safety on University Parkway. There is no charge for visitor permits.

Temporary parking permits are not necessary when attending special events, but visitors must not park in fire lanes, 20-minute zones, service vehicle spaces, or disabled parking areas.
