Welcome to The Sports Performance Enhancement Consortium (SPEC)

The SPEC program is now under the Center of Excellence for Sport Science and Coach Education.  For more information on the Center of Excellence as well as the Designated Olympic Training Center please go here.

We began as a collaborative effort between The Sports Science  Concentration in The Department of Kinesiology, Leisure, and Sport Science and ETSU Athletics.  This type of relationship is not found anywhere in the United States and offers a unique opportunity for the advancement of sport sciences.  SPEC was created in the Spring of 2006 with the following goals:

1. Providing monitoring services for the ETSU sports teams

2. Being instrumental in the development of coaches and sports scientists

3. Producing “cutting edge” sports science research

4. Gaining national and international recognition as the leader in coaching development and sports science, including the development of research, service and educational programs.

Since our inception we have been striving to meet these goals.  You can learn more about our monitoring services, upcoming sports science and coaching clinics, and see what current research projects we are undertaking by visiting the Center of Excellence for Sport Science and Coach Education webpage here.  Thank you for visiting SPEC and please let us know how we may help you.
