Hello students! Welcome to the College of Arts and
Sciences Biological Sciences Advisement web site. This web site is designed to assist you with the academic advisement process as a Biology major. If you do not find the answer to your questions on this web site, please contact your advisor for further assistance.
Students are required to bring a copy of your Degree Works worksheet and a list of courses that you plan to take in the next semester with you to the advisement appointment. This is mandatory. Advisors are listed below:
Joanna Cyrier will be advising those students who have less than 60 credit hours. Appointments are to be scheduled for advisement with Joanna Cyrier by calling the Medical Professions Advisement desk at 423-439-5602.
Dr. Joe Bidwell will be advising students who have earned 60-89 credit hours with the last names ending in A-I. Appointments for advisement are to be scheduled by signing up on his door in Brown Hall 125. He can be reached by email for questions at email@example.com .
Dr. Karl Joplin will be advising students who have earned 60-89 credit hours with the last names ending in J-Z. Appointments for advisement are to be scheduled by signing up on his door in Brown Hall 432. He can be reached by email for questions at firstname.lastname@example.org .
Dr. Hugh Miller will be advising students who have earned 90 or more credit hours regardless of concentration. Dr. Miller's advising times are listed on his office door at 306 Brown Hall. Please come by during those times only. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 9-10AM, Monday 1-4PM, Tuesday 1-4PM, and Thursday 1-4PM. He does not take appointments. Please contact the main Biology office if you want to request a permit for a closed course or if you have any questions about course substitutions. Remember that a permit may or may not be available for a specific course. The main Biology office number is 423-439-4329 and is located in room 125 Brown Hall.
